OUR EXPERIENCE

For this trip we had booked the after-party. We arrived at the podium for check-in about 7:15 PM. There were two separate lines for check-in, one was for the pre-party and the other line was for post-party. Once your reservation is verified by a Cast Member, you will receive an armband that designates which party you are attending, just like the Halloween & Christmas After Hours Events. This makes it easier for the Cast Members to identify the party guests. When we arrived, the pre-party line was already very long. We were the first ones in line for the post-party check-in. They didn’t not start checking in until 7:45 PM. And for guests who wish to partake in alcohol, make sure to bring a government issued ID, showing that you are 21 years of age. After check-in we were brought to the viewing area, which is located on the hub grass to the right of the castle. We waited for 90 minutes until the fireworks started. Don’t worry, you can sit and enjoy the space while you wait for the show to begin. Once the fireworks start the grass area becomes standing room only.

Once the show is finished you have the options to wait for someone to walk you back or head over by yourself for the dessert portion of the evening. We opted to make our way over there on our own, which paid off as we were among the first to make a table selection. When you make your way to the entrance of Tomorrowland Terrace you are given a “reserved” sign and brought to a table for the size of your group. You are then free to go make dessert and drink selections. We are unaware of any time limit, but we hung out for about 1 hours eating and drinking.

There were wide range of desserts, both savory and sweet. There was also a large selection of drinks, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic. The menu is subject to change each night.

OUR THOUGHTS

What We Found Magical:

We purchased post-party tickets. Having experienced both pre- and post-party viewing, we really enjoyed the post-party selection, which came as a surprise to us. Mainly because those who had purchased the pre-party ticket were eating their desserts first, giving us the choice of viewing areas in the Plaza Garden. The pre-party guests were on a timeline crunch trying to enjoy the desserts but also head over to the viewing area. Unfortunately, by the time they made it over the area, it had filled up and the choice view spots had been taken. An additional bonus to our post-party evening was not having to contend with the crowds to leaving Magic Kingdom! Plus, we were able to spend time leisurely eating desserts and enjoying the evening. However, if you have small children that are dependent on an early sleep schedule like mine, then the post party might be a little late. The viewing area is perfect, it gives you a clear view of the castle, and the ability to slightly see down Main Street for the projections. Really the best part of this experience is not having to jockey for hours as guests mark their spots for the fireworks.

What Needs A Little Pixie Dust:

There are a few things that need a little tweaking. The selection of savory desserts was limited. As far as we could see the only options were some cheese and crackers. We would like to see of these items added to the night’s menu. A nice charcuterie cone would have hit the spot!

Additional offerings of some mixed drinks would be nice. We aren’t asking for a full bar, but the drink selection was limited to wine and beer. As a person that doesn’t drink wine or beer much this aspect was sad for me. Maybe even a pre-mixed signature drink themed around the firework spectacular!

Who is this for?:

This is for the guest that wants to add a little magic to trip and guarantee themselves an amazing viewing area for the fireworks. The desserts really are just a small bonus before or after the fireworks.

Would we do this again?

Absolutely, while both pre- and post-party choices are amazing, we prefer the post-party offering.
